I think it's a fake. Search the forum and you'll find some more examples.

I have to admit I'm currently a bit out of touch but I would not give up just yet.
Better pictures are needed but for me it has the typical attributes of a light Godet.
What is the weight of it?
Can you ask for better pictures of the rivets, marking, hinge, hook etc?

€3000-€3200 in my opinion. Heavy or light version?
            Best regards,
            Streptile

light version, the heavy one did not have the plate under the catch.
As said before, I'm a bit out of touch but €3000 - €3200 is IMHO a bit steep for a light Godet without case.

Wow, you are right in line with Streptile.....I bought a Godet in 2012 for $2.8k, condition was not as nice but certainly not bad either.
Seems like the DK's gained in value over the last two years?

as a long-time collector who always bought and recently sells i have learned that prices are mainly a personal issue. I doubt that this cross would sell here on the forum at 3.000€ and i believe that only a handfull collectors would be willing to pay such a price. If so, just because they are looking instantly for exactly such a piece.

i have learned that as a collector with an emphasis on EK1 1939. I almost own(ed) every "variant" and paid crazy prices, just i wanted to own a special cross. Before the economical crisis the "market price" for a EK1 with round 3, was around 1.300€ thats amlost ten times as much as an ordinary EK1 costs. Its getting even crazier when it comes to L/14 or "odd 9" crosses. But there are just a few, a handful of collectors who are crazy enough to pay that price. And thats the same for people who are collecting stamps, stones, general assault badges and so on....
What i want to say that you should listen to yourself what that piece might be worth for you. And i would take into consideration if you can afford this cross in the future at all, if you want to keep it for a long time or if it is just something to satisfy you shortly and what you will sell early.

As an indication i think that everything under 1.800€ would be a very good price, between 1.800€ and 2.400€ the price is fair and everything below is just for those, who instantly are wanting exactly that cross. Beleive me, i am a german cross collecor myself but my limit would be 2.100€, no matter what others say or what is written in a Price catalogue. And actually, just because i am not looking for a 21, i wouldnt even pay 1.900€.

hope you will find a wise solution,

                    Stefan

Thanks Stefan, what is your opinion on the cross based on these rather sloppy pictures.
                      Original or fake?

I would say 2-2.5 eur for such example.

                          Hello Alex,

Thats the range I had in my mind.
But as stated before, it's up to the buyer, if he is desperately in need for exactly this cross, he'd be willing to pay more than others.
OP, could you ask for better pictures and did the seller name a price to you or did he ask to make an offer?

there are no doubts about originality, it's a beautiful light Godet. I think it's marked under the pin.
in my opinion actually his value could be around of 2.600-2.800 Euro.

                              ciao stefan,
I understand your thought but during the years the things change and actually there is a big interest (in my opinion rightly) under the Godet products so there is the natural evolution of prices.
