WWII Iron Cross 1st Class w/ Case (EKI)

I recently purchased a fairly large collection of WWII items from a fellow collector who is getting out of the hobby. As I primarily collect American items, I will be selling most of the German pieces by offering them to fellow forum members. As I am less knowledgeable about German items, I want to post them for review and opinions on authenticity before listing them for sale. I'm not asking for any values or prices but would like you folks to weigh in on authenticity. Thanks in advance and please contact me with any questions!

Glad to hear that the case is real. Do you think the medal is an older reproduction or has it been artificially aged? The previous owner said he purchased about 15 years ago in Australia.

the customer may have taken 15 years ago / which I doubt /
15 years it was not good / long ago /
and now is not good

but the cross and the box is not good
