    Authentic Iron Cross?

    Hello,
I have been put in charge of slowly liquidating my fathers extensive WWII Militaria collection and I stumbled upon 2 Iron Crosses. I am interested in their authenticity as there are so many phenomenal fakes out there.

They are both magnetic in the center and I can slide a piece of paper between the black part and the silver.

I will post pictures of each one and any help you could give me would be a great help, as my father suffers from Alzheimer's and is unable to provide me with info

That is common...the Knees (closest part to the swastika) can be noticed to push down some if you try it with your finger...as they are seperate from the core and not soldered down....doesn't sound like they are fakes, but when you post the photos ....you'll get the final word...sorry to hear about you dads condition...they are making headway with alzheimers, but as of yet have not made the possible cures available to patients except in test cases....It is a difficult thing to have to bear, but if you find anything he can relate to , that is something anyway...best wishes, and welcome.

Well it looks like Giorgio beat me to asking the questions on them, but here are better pictures if it changes anything.

        Here is #2

This one has the number 925 stamped towards the top ring on the silver that is very small and hard to see

Here is the oak leaf that was with them. It is stamped with the number 800 on the back

All fakes I'm afraid. But don't fret; these fakes have a value of about $350 each for the crosses, and perhaps $50 for the oaks.
                    Best regards,

Thank you everyone for all your input. I greatly appreciate it.

I found out this morning that my mother had sent them to France to a family friend who specializes in German Militaria and he confirmed that they are indeed fake.

Thank you again.. I have a coin that I have lots of questions on. I will post about that shortly
