Who is the maker - EK1?

Here is a very well made EK1. Very nice quality...looks like rhodium plating to the frame, nice frosting, etc.

I'll post it for complete review.

    Thanks for looking.

Are there not problems with EK1's from this maker...wartime/post war? Is this a wartime, no issues piece?

Rich, IMO it's wartime EK the same as part of L15 Eki. Your has Schickle catch which can be found on 15 marked and L15 Eki's.

I think we hastily put every L15 as postwar. I have medal bar with Ost marked L15 and Ekii marked L/14 , Luftschutz and Finland Taprerhet medal and assume it as original

I think it is a mess with these '15' verses 'L15'...very confusing as some straight away condemn all L15 as post war, others say there are wartime and post war but it is not clear to me how those are identified.

If that cross were marked '15' would it be wartime but if marked 'L15' would it be post-war? All very confusing coupled with the fact that L/15 existed.

Yes it's very confusing. Why we call the same EK war time if it's unmarked or unmarked and the same EK marked L15 as post war.

I think we can clearly see what is "Austrian fake' / postition of hinge, used material/ and marked L15

On the other side is L15 with quality like yours / I know your is unmarked/ and no difference with marked 15.

As far as I seen Ost medal marked L15 is accepted as wartime.

Its always tricky when you come to a L15.
Here is some pictures of a EK I L15 that I bought in the 80s.
This one has the same catch as the EK I that start this thread.

So is Andy C's cross a postwar piece or wartime?

as we can see both are identical (except L15), both has the same finish , Schickle's catch In my opinion both are wartime
