Unusual case for EK11

Here is a first for me.

My favourite cased awards are for the EK11.

I was lucky to get this case a couple of weeks ago, and after a little non destructive examination was even more surprised by what I found.

This appears to be a custom, period made case for the EK11.

It goes without saying that it started life as something else!!

Now it gets intersting, under the white flock base is a clip from a paper.

Thanks to Frank, the extrct from the article relates to the bombing of Koln and the Rhur, which I reckon dates the case to 1944/45.

and finally, the case with an EKK11 and ribbon fitted. The top of the base has a slight indent to fit an EK11 ribbon, a bit like the case for the HRC. I think its great. Allan

I would say it was a 1914 EK1 case.
