    If I remember correctly, I think it's a post war KVK1.
A pre may 1945 cross, pin and catch, but post war assambled and L15 stamp by Mr Floch.

Exactly as Gordon Williamson sums it up in his book on the War Merit Cross. The cross is actually assembled from Otto Schickle parts with a post war 'L15' incuse relief stamp.

Many thanks for your help on this, it's very much appreciated. I'm not sure the vendor will be as pleased though.

          Hello guys!
This cross has no Otto Schickle parts, it is made by Friedrich Orth postwar for Mr. Floch.

          Best regards

Then, I hate to say it, Gordon's book is incorrect.

Hi guys, I am the owner of this set, can somebody point me to where some of these assertions are actually proved. I have no problem if it's post war assembled but I would like to see some evidence, already there are different opinions. I will post another cross it came with in another thread.
              Cheers - Greg

                Hi Greg!
Search on L15 and you'll find lots of info on this marking.

Look at this thread on GCA which photo comparisons prove that this cross is made by Orth IMO.

Many thanks guys, with regret I've passed on this cross and just picked up the cased '50' KVKIoS on it's own from Greg.

                      Your help is greatly appreciated.

                      Cheers, Ian.

From what I have read that is not correct, the parts are said to be wartime made but post war assembled or even wartime assembled with the MM added post war. Semantics but post war could mean made yesterday which is not how I have read the various threads.

Suspect, but not sure if all [L15] marked awards are post war!
