    EK 2 Packets and boxes

Hello forum members, could someone tell me why some EK 2's came in paper packets and some were presented in hard cases? Was it mearly where the award was presented? Thanks, Helene

EK2 hard cases were privately purchased only. The single exception is the 1870 series when some early awards were made in leather-and-wood cases. All other awards of the EK2 were made with paper Packets.

Thanks Streptile. How long was the length of ribbon given with an EK 2? Was there a 'set' length? Regards, Helene,

About 13" (33cm), I believe. This was to be sufficient for use in the buttonhole, leaving another length for suspending the cross.
