    Gobert EK1 Case Question

Seems like it's about impossible to tell if a certain case was made for a
specific cross, unless it's maker marked so.
I am reading here that sometimes Gobert and Zimmermann used only a
    certain case?
Here's my vaulted L/50 (mm in a box under the catch),
and the case it came in.
Is this case made for this cross or a generic variety ?
    Thanks, John

          Hard to tell...
If the cross fits perfectly it's possible they always belonged together.
We will never know. Some manufactures used specific cases, for example the green cases are associated with Klein & Quenzer.

                Thanks guys.
With that info, cross is fairly loose in the cradle but looks about like
the Zimmermann in the last photo. Cut out peeking out below the catch.
                Button also the same.
The beading impression in the lid is about 3mm shorter from side
                to side as the cross.
                That's ok though.
Am debating whether to sell the case, keep the cross.

I'd keep both and call it good.

Hi i think you are talking about Godet....in the case the EK1 have and amazing patina and is beautiful, the case looks like a Zimmerman, but its normal because Godet and Zimmerman are almost exactly...and also have many parts in common...best Oberst.
