This cross is considered post war by most collectors.

      Hello

      Thanks for your help.

I got it together with the iron cross of the other post and also the documents. The guy died at the beginning of 1945 and all was untouched.

Are you sure with your information. Would be very strange. Noone touched the stuff, but never say never... Who knows..

Jordan is right - by most collectors this type L15 is considered as post war.

          Servus Buckeru,

your cross bears all caracteristics one would expect from an original; it has compared to other crosses a rather good quality, it is nicely finished, the assembling of the parts is nicely done. But the mark is not correct to many collectors or at least it does not correspond with their narrow mind. As a result they dont accept obviously rock solid proof (the soldier died in 1945) but rather belief their anxious phantasy. And the fact that you are from Austria even makes them more uncertain: because the man who is believed to be the faker of these is the mysterious J. Floch, or also know as "Flock" to those collector friends who cannot pronounce "ch" properly

If you'd ask me i would respond you: The cross is nicely done, the quality is good, it corresponds to wartime pieces, it is found in untouched groupings so it is very likely original, or at least not less than for example every L/11 marked cross (whose parts also were used postwar).

          many greetings,
          Stefan

When I see the following POW KVK1, it is hard to believe that's all [L15] marked awards are postwar made badges from Floch.

But on the other Hand, Floch use this type of pin for the 100% Floch fakes -see this link:

Probably the truth behind these L15 marked EK1s will never be found with certainty.
                Best regards,
