I'm posting this for member surge5, he posted this in the Collection- and Displayforum.
    Regards,
    Junior.

Oak leaves with crossed swords ?
<HR color=#cfb992 SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->Hi Can anyone tell me about this item? It is typical on the front of others I have seen. The back has only one marking of 800 stamped into a mirror finish. No other markings are visible. I was told it was an oak leaf with crossed swords but cannot find any info about it. Please help This is my first post and I have been very impressed with the information availabe on this site. What I am asking is if this is a real item or a reprouduction? Thanks

    Hi Surge5,

The oakleaves and swords is identical to the oakleaves but with swords below
it. Only 159 awarded - making it a VERY rare and VERY expensive award.
It sais that from October 1941 ALL oakleaves with swords were made by
Godet from Berlin ( in the book "Medals and Decorations of Hitler's Germany" -
    Robin Lumsden ).

So it's best if you show images here and give more details.

    Sincerely,

    Ran

      real or fake?

I collect mostly paper documents and very few medals. I will try to post photos but does anyone have an idea if the 800 stamped on the back is a real marking because most I have seen have 900 stamped on the back? Thank you junior for the help

        Hi Surge,

        Here are your images.

I had to resize the images a bit because there is a limit in size that can be
        posted in the forum.

BTW, the back of your Oakleaves is flat, so it's easy to know it's fake.
It should be a bit concave.

              it´s not flat...

in fact, the reverse IS concave.
And yes, it is marked 800, but even if it is original, it´s a ´57 set.
(the hilts of the swords touch the blades.)

I suggest you do a forum search, because there are several postings on these items.
(´57 as well as wartime originals)

              regards,
              ben

                Thanks

Thanks to all that gave feedback on this item. I think I will stick with paper documents and signed photos. Thanks

It is a 57 edition from S&L. Short loop, 8 points on the hilts, sloopy finish (so not an early 57 piece)

I thought so, but wasn't sure enough to post that.

                    best regards,

                      Thanks again

Thanks for the info what would be a good price for this item if it is a 1957.

I have been interested in other things and opened the box with the oak leaves in it. Its been awhile sice I looked at it and remembered I had posted it on the forum. Anyone with info on this item I would appreciate it.
