KVK2 (Ferdinand Hoffstätter)

Hello,
i bought this KVK with the Maker 8 (Ferdinand Hoffstätter). But in a German book about KVKs, the design of the KVK with the number 8 looks a bit different, is this an orignial too ?

If the book you're referring to is Michael Falcks, you are correct, the cross pictured in this thread are made of tombak, according to the book hersteller '8' only made them in zink. It differs very much from the zink example. Also the '8' should be the lenghtwise stamped on the ring.
I know there are EkII:s marked '8', which are disputed as to originality. Would be interesting to see some of those stamps.
I am no expert on KVK II:s, but I collect them, and I have never seen one marked '8' before. It might be perfectly good though.

The cross in your pic's looks original wartime piece to me. Question is about the makers mark? Hope someone else can chime in.
