I have seen these before in the hands of WWII vets. German POW's made cast medals and insignia not so much to wear, but to trade or sell to guards.

We had major POW camps in my home state of Colorado, and these items were a relatively common form of commerce in the camps - hence the title "POW" cross.

Absolutely, apply whatever criteria makes you comfortable. I was weighing in to amplify the fact that such a thing as a "POW" award existed.
