EK1 marked "L15" by Otto Schickle

Very interesting EK1. Paint on the core is cross-hatched, while the swastika and date are not, and the entire EK1 is one-piece construction. What do you all think?

I had a KVK 1 w/o swords with the exact same hinge / pin / catch and maker mark .... unfortunately ... they all gave it a big

It was deemed to be a Floch Copy ....

              Yuri,
I have seen this same type of pebbled core on legitment Schinkelform crosses. However, never on the later 1939 EK1. I don't know what to think but I find it quite intresting just the same.

There is not much I see in this EK that conforms with what I would expect to see in a good Otto Schickle.

I second that, George. Here is mine, which has the Souval frame. But it must be said, this is a disputed type also - there is at least on other l15 around.

                      Did Schinkle produce L15 KVK's?

                          Darrell,

They did produce KVK's. I had one up not long ago w/o swords that passed the forum test. They had hinge plates and sometimes plates on the catch.

Floch EKI's have a low sitting hinge (the hinge was quite low from the top arm of the cross) and a very low sitting date.

With L15's, unless you're in love with them, I'd steer clear of them. Not worth the trouble IMO.

                            Hi Jim,

Yeah I believe I can remember that one. I was actually surprised to see the above EK1 with the L15. It does not have the low 1939 date on the front like typical Floch's.

I guess the KVK's are open to debate. 6 of one 1/2 dozen of another.
