Question about the KvK 1st class

    Hi,

I have read that for an individual to be awarded the KvK 1st class, they would have already been awarded the KvK 2nd class. I have an awards listing of a German officer General who was awarded during WW2, a spange for his WW1 EK 2nd class, as well the KvK 1st class with swords. There is no mention of a KvK 2nd class being awarded. Could this be due to his prior EK awards?

    thanks,

    Darren

From the original Institution Order: Article Four -- The award of the Iron Cross of 1939 or the Clasp to the Iron Cross from World War One precludes the award of the equivalent Class of the War Merit Cross.

So bear with me as I can be slow. The award of the EK or Spange would take the place of the KVK2?

          Hi again,

          I have one further question:

Does the award of the KvK 1st class preclude the award of the clasp to the EK 1st class? BTW, the document that I found this listing on is called the Kriegsbeuteilung.

          regards,

          Darren
