    EK2 by Eugen Schmidhäußler (maker 28)

    We discussed this years ago but didn't really reach a conclusion. Since then I've been keeping my eyes open and I recently saw a Schmidhäußler EK2 set posted on another forum, direct from the family (reportedly) that seems to confirm the type I've long suspected is the correct EK2 by maker 28.

    Everyone please post their EK2s that came in packets marked Eugen Schmidhäußler Pforzheim.

    Here is my old EK2 from a 28 Packet.

    ...and here's one directly from the family, downloaded without permission (thanks to the original poster, "Navigator" on SDA).

    Despite differences in lighting, angle and photo style, I think it's a match to the one I used to own. Note the date style (very thick 1's in 1813, e.g.), the thin-gauge jump-ring and thicker ribbon ring, and frame shape.

      Any other opinions?

      Any more Schmidhäußler sets to post?

        The example in Dietrich's book seems to have wider frames than the ones you post Trevor, almost like a 24

            Very interesting. I love a good mystery!

            I have two candidates: Both have the same frame (even down to the over-filing on the 6/9 arm beading!)

                      Hello Johnny

                      Beading = ||||||||||||||||||

                      See below the over-filing I mentioned. You can see it on the Obverse of #1 and the Reverse of #2
