Oakleaves with diamonds - Souval ?

    Hello all,

These came with a Souval Grand Cross and I wanted to ask if these appear to be one of his products? No swords (in the first photo I am using something to hold them upright)

      Hi William,

the oakleaves you posted are not Souval made.

Here is a typical 1960s Souval made piece for comparison. The highlights on the OLS are polished, even if it may not seem that way in the picture.

      Best regards,
      Alex

It looks like the Swords have broken off (or have been removed).

Yes, I know there is no such thing I just didn't know if these were Souval since they came in a lot containing a Souval grand cross. Thank you for the help.

Am I reading this correctly that you are saying there are no authentic Oaks with diamonds?

                  Regards,

That is correct, the award is Oakleaves, swords and Diamonds. The Diamonds are the higher grade above the swords.

I understand that but are not the diamonds set into the Oaks?

                        Stu,

There are no swords, thus it is not a legitimate set of Oakleaves, swords, and diamonds.

All legitimate sets of Oakleaves with swords and diamonds had swords, whereas my set here does not.

                          Hi William,

I must have misunderstood the context of Tom's comment. I am aware of the order of issue and the configuration but thought the comment meant that there were no diamonds as in diamonds themselves were never issued whereas we know that they were. It's all good.

                          Regards,
                          Stu

I think he meant that no oak leaves, swords and diamonds were made for the Grand Cross (only the Knights Cross) which seemed is what William had implied.
