    Welcome to the forum.
That set looks great, typical S&L with barrel hinge.
    Thanks for sharing,

Welcome to the forum! As the others have stated your cross, and case, are splendid examples. S&L is very popular with collectors. Congratulations on a wonderful EKI set.

A VERY good EKI reference book for collectors is entitled 'The Iron Cross 1. Class', authored by Dietrich Maerz and George Stimson. It is filled with extraordinary photos and extensive information on the subject.

        Regards,
        Robert

It is a great set. S&L is one of my favourite markers. The EK looks lovely and the box is in great condition. Congratulations.

                  Thanks everyone!

I have been looking into the guides by Dietrich Maerz and George Stimson, the PAB guide in particular. I find that the Panzer Assault badges are not as straight forward as the EK in terms of confirming authenticity

If you have read along here for awhile now you may have heard this mentioned by folks. Once you have found a badge (or cross) online through a dealer ask him to place it on hold for you for a day or two, ask for additional photos if the photos online are not sufficient, and then once you've received the photos post them in the corresponding forum asking for help identifying its authenticity. It will save you a lot of trouble in the long run, and, you'll find that the folks here are eager to help out. Most, if not all, dealers are willing to work with you.

eMedals is a very good site, yes. Barry Turk.

My main focus is on Imperial and Third Reich EK's. You'll probably want to ask for some good PAB sites on the 'Heer/SS War and Qual. Badges' forum.

Check Estand right here on this site. Best deal and guarantee original.

Well, usually original. Occasionally a bad one slips through, but the best thing about estand is that the community is always checking the posts and the fakes are just about always spotted before they get sold. I think estand is the safest way to buy. If you see an item on another site you're after then Robbert's suggestion is definitely the way to go.
