Attached are close-up photos of the WWII EK2 & the EK2 Spang.

Also, I took out the bottom of the EK 1 Spang case and posted those pictures as well. Am also posting those pictures on the thread in packets & cases section. I hope its good news because it looks different than the bottom of my EK 1 box.

Last but not least, photos of the EK1 Spang box. The wooden removable bottom is different than that of the EK1 box (cardboard in post below). Not sure if this is a problem or not. The glue looks similar in both cases. I cannot see any stamps / marking on the Spang box but the cardboard of the EK 1 box is marked 621 KB. Most everyone seems to think the Spang box is legit but wanted to post in hopes it seals a verdict (one way or the other).

            Hi TX77445

Wait for more knowledgeable responses but IMO the 2nd class spange in your post 16 is a repro. Looks like a ruff casting of the spange I have attached below.

            Regards

            JC

You shouldn't have removed the wooden base of the Spange case. It's sat there for over 70 years just fine. It's like removing the prongs on a Spange to check for a mark...
              Best regards,

For me the second class spange is bad and does resemble the cast reproductions that were prevalent a few years ago.

If that base got off from case without any trouble/"trying" it's ok. If you had any efforts while doing that it was a no-no-action. That case is the pearl of the bunch (for me) and I agree with others about that spange. EK2-39 is quite nice condition too - at least for my eyes.
