Why is it a '57 piece, although it is a swastika?

The term "C" frame is just a name given to a type of frame produced by Steinhauer and Lueck after 1957. It was used in both "1957" version Knights Crosses and swastika-cored Knights Crosses made for the collector market in the 1960's and later. There are many mentions of this frame in Knights Cross discussions in the 1957 section on this forum.
