RK & Oaks for Heinrich Keece

Saw on another page a list of RK winners. Oberleut Heinrich Keese received RK on 10-20-44 and also list oaks - 805? Don't know what that is, but occupation of Keese was listed as Chef. Would RK and Oaks be awarded to a Chef?? (boss? sound like a cook?)
Any info on Keese (i.e. Home of record)? Know he was assigned Das Reich, 20 Panzer gren Div.

Chef means "chief" or "boss", etc. Here it refers to a Kompaniechef, or company commander.

Then-Oberleutnant Keese was Chef 2./PiBtl 20 (mot.), or commander, 2nd Company, 20th Pioneer Battalion (motorized), when he received the RK. He received the Oaks as a Major der Reserve and commander of the 20th Pioneer Battalion.

He was born in Unsen in Hameln-Pyrmont on April 1, 1918. I believe he still lives in Hameln.

3 January 1944: Deutsches Kreuz in Gold

Thanks Dave for all the info. As you see, I'm not too informed on this subject. Thanks again.
