Gran Sasso's KC awardee

Both E. Meyer ( Skorzeny's glider pilot) and Gerlach( flew Mussolini and Skorzeny out) were awarded the KC after the Gran Sasso raid.
What happened to them and also their award?

Heinrich Gerlach died in 1993 and Elimar Meyer died in 1996. I know both were not public figures after the war, but I did meet Meyer at a OdR reunion in the 70's. Tom
