    ID unmarked EK2?

    Hi guys.

I wonder if it is possible to ID a EK2 that Ive got?
If so, what distinguish it from other EK2, that makes you able to tell?

I just have one photo of it for now, I can take a photo of the back too if needed.

Probably an original Rettenmaier... but ! it's not the typical wartime ! in my opinion it 's a postwar product. Few examples can be found with the original wartime ring marked 16.

Does this mean that numbered rings on EK2 is wartime, and all that does not have a numbered ring - are postwar?

yes, original rings. Rest or part of the rest are postwar. Not strange, more or less it happened with Deumer too, Steinhauer & Luck, Klein & Quenzer..

Looks like a typical original war time Rettenmaier to me .
Generally speaking there are far more original - unmarked - war time crosses than there are marked ones .

What makes you believe its a unmarked 16? What characteristics does it have?

                  Regards

It is the chip in this corner which I seam to see on yours - quit small - and sometimes larger on others , as well on L59 pieces .

Why have the inner beading corners of the rear frame been filed to fit a swaz?
