    Iron Cross......Juncker Schinkelform??

Can anyone please give me some info about this particular Iron Cross? My wife's grandfather was a major in the Wehrmacht and had all sorts of medals and awards (including a couple of Iron Crosses) many of which were sold a year or two back. However, I came across this particular Iron Cross in a writing desk drawer very recently and wondered if it also could have been one of his. The reason I'm 'wondering' and not certain is that it is not in such good a condition as his other medals, it's a little bit worn - and it is NOT Magnetic. I haven't touched it I hasten to add but I know very little about German medals apart from the obvious and would appreciate any help. Clearly, if it was one of his it must be ok because of where I found it, but it was not with his other medals although I can't think of any reason why it should have been separated from the other awards.
A good friend from the Forum has advised me that it could be a 'Juncker Schinkelform' (about which I have absolutely no idea), and that I should throw it open to the Forum.
I simply want to sell it, but I obviously need to know that it is ok, - and if it is what I should ask for it. So, I am. Any ideas please? Genuine? Price?
    Details:
It measures 4.4cms by 4.4cms. It's a little bit dirty, it certainly looks to be made of three pieces and I can see where the two frames meet and definitely appear to be joined. There are no letters on the suspension ring. What I don't understand is that it is not magnetic?
Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to give me,
    Cheers,
    Terry

Nice cross, and yes it is a Juncker Schinkel. You can read all about them here if you're interested.

If you have a name, unit and award date it would be highly interesting to know that information. If you have an corresponding award document, I'll buy it myself
    Best regards,

      Iron Cross

Thanks for such a speedy reply! I don't have any papers to go with the award, I simply found the Iron Cross by accident.
What I do know is that the chap involved (my wife's grandfather Maj. Hans Fritz) was responsible for Guderian's communications throughout the war, - from day one in Poland to the very end. I certainly could find out his unit(s) but it wouldn't really amount to much because I don't have the paperwork to go with the award.
      Cheers,

          Iron Cross

          Hi Nick,
Mine's a bit grubby compared to yours! Good to know it's genuine though.
Thanks for the message and photos.
Does being a Juncker Schinkelform make it worth any more than a 'normal' Iron Cross? I'm only going to sell it anyway.
          Cheers,
          Terry
