Maybe the Imperial EK2 collectors could help here?

Have you posted it there as well Stefan?

They usually don't look over here, so it might take a while before you get a reply...

Sorry Stefan but I think me too this mm is not the factory mark.

Somebody added a mm for add value, not all the strange marking are a new discovery or mistery, ever IMHO.

I post my EKII marked "2" & "800".... but is not a silver Juncker.

I agree, your EK2 has nothing to do with Juncker.

Usual I don’t want to show the cross until I got an answer to the maker mark.
For me it is more important to check the authenticity of the maker mark from the jeweler Alfred Rösner from Dresden and the maker mark design should be from the time periode after July 1941.
So I hope to see a similar maker mark like on this Otto Schickle EK2! I saw one similar maker mark on a KVK2 ring and this is why I’m thinking that this maker mark is war time.
But the confidence level of something never seen before is not easy to reach like this L/56 marked EK1.
That someone build a maker mark from Rösner late design to add on a ring to increase the value, is not my feeling.
I think the rest of the production from Otto Schickle was distributed to Maker or Jeweler with the licence to sell WW2 Awards and remarked by them, because of if someone will order furthermore from the firm Schickle, makes itself liable to penalty.

If the mark is legit it could be an explanation.
But over the years a lot of awards had some weird mark added to increase the value...

Hard to say if it's good or not...

                          Dear Stefan,
yours is a plausible and intelligent answer.

But, always IMHO, we are always dealing with hypotheses, at least until they appear in other crosses marked so, then I think we really talk about marking uncommon.

I don't think that are made only one and nothing else, surely your EKII is very beautiful and I like it, regardless of the brand.

                          Hello and thanks for sharing
