That's interesting, why would they mark an '57 EK? No goverment control to worry about, so may be left over stock?

My thoughts exactly. My Deumer 1957 EKII and 1939 EKII have the same die flaws and the rings have the same '3' font code.

As such, I surmise that the 1957 EKII is made of the same frame and ring parts as the earlier 1939 version.

I recently got hold of a copy of the German Official Guidelines for the manufacture of WWII (1957) re-issue awards. Basically there are pictures of the awards and details of how each award should be constructed. It's in German, but could be a good reference to some. It is about 100 pages. I can organise a copy for anybody interested. Just pm me.

Don´t throw away your fake WB´s! Get in touch with me.
I collect them for reference purposes for the benefit of the hobby (for the right "fake" price of course).

The Guide starts off with the pictures of the awards and then details about each one. I will be going over to the local stationer this afternoon and will check the cost for copying the whole document.

I think I read on the forums once that these pieces were, in some cases anyway, made out of left over stock of 1939 parts. That would explain why some are marked etc, and look very much like original 1939 pieces bar the centre oakleaves.

Exactly . Swastica is the only missing thing.

                              Hello

I bought this 1957 EKI from Detlev some time ago.
Is an unmarked example and I would like to know if anybody can help me to identify the maker.
                              thanks in advance

                              cordial greetings
