i will get better photos soon, yes its the photos for sure . i paid £45 for it from a trusted dealer. I am no expert on eks like you guys.

Iam ignorant as a southern school boy on EKs,,give the guy a break,,it does have " markings and stuff" Iam so dumb with Eks I bought a fake one for 5 bucks and now iam told its authentic,,iam still skeptic on it though

Helmets and other ordens being my interest,,iam dedicating my time to really learning about the EK..The first thing I check is the numbers and the hairline of where the outer rim was melded together,,is this a good starting investigation?

I´m not laughing at you. I just found it a bit funny with the "markings and stuff". Never heard that from a collector before
Most Iron Crosses are unmarked. Some are marked. Typical markings on the EK2 as you have there will be:
1, 3, 4, 25, 55, 65, 100. There are many more.
Stay away from crosses marked 333 and 666. There is a fake marked 49 as well.
