Gents,
I have for your consideration this S&L RK which is 935 marked but no '4'. I have this cross on probation from H. Weitze and I am still 50/50 as to whether it is a 'keeper'. It has been briefly discussed before on this forum, but only based on the photos form Weitze's site. I could not resist geting it 'in the hand' to take a good look and to let you all have a shot at it. It has a 'smooth-ish' painted iron core and is flawless. It weighs in at 30.7g including loop and measures 48.3mm across and top to bottom. It comes in a nice early case with the well bevelled edges to the bottom. The front and back frames are IDENTICAL, obviously being struck from the same die. I can't get pics magnified enough to show you but there are minute die characteristics on the obverse of the 9 o'clock arm which are reproduced exactly on the reverse of the 3 0'clock arm. Dave has already highlighted the seemingly unfinished 'eye' and the difference in font to those 935s that are '4' marked. All comments welcome - SHOULD I KEEP IT!
