Looks like a good Deumer to me.

I think it's OK, but looks like a mis strike of some sort? The head looks strange and oddly shaped.

Is there a remote possibility that Deumer used two different dies for these spangen? The reason I ask is it appears that the head on a couple examples here differs from the spange I posted.

Hard to say much about it. Like Oakleaves, some Spangen have to be judged in-hand. This one is either a good Deumer or a cast of a good Deumer.

Yes, and it's interesting that both examples shown here with the odd head are consistent with one another. I don't know if this is worth mentioning but I'll say it anyway. It's a minor issue. I have never seen the prongs on a Deumer cut so short. They usually extend beyond the solder area. Even the Prinzen two-prong version does. Every Deumer spange I have owned has been this way.

Also look at the eyes of the 9's in the date box, very different.

I believe there are two dies used, as the birds are different from each other. Jim
