    unmarked iron cross.

Picked up an unmarked iron cross,Russian front maker marked 11 and Czech war entry. We're all iron crosswe always marked,or were the marked ones for German nationals only.It is magnetic core but I am new to the forum.Any idea what maker 11 made the Russian front medal, they look like a group all 3 and the cross is black with some green age.Any help appreciated.Ian

The earlier WWII iron crosses were usually always unmarked. Some makers never marked their iron crosses despite what period the war was in. The '11' on the ring of the Russian Front medal stands for the maker Grossmann & Co., Wien.
