Help with EK1

I wonder if anyone might be able to help me with a recent purchase.
I recently bought a collection of military badges and included was an Iron Cross.
As I'm no expert in German medals could anyone confirm if this one is genuine or a fake?
Hopefully the photos will be clear enough. I've checked all over and there's no markings. Not even on the pin. I would have thought if it were genuine it would have some sort of identification mark ?
Anyway,any advice would be gratefully received

This is an original Souval EKI. Not all makers marked their crosses.

Hi Robbo, fellow Gloucestershire member! As has been said it's an original Souval. Early Third Reich awards are often unmarked. I think the numbering system was only made mandatory in 1941, so it will be made before that date I guess.

Thank you both for your replies and confirmation. It's a nice surprise as I hadn't noticed it was in the collection until sorting through afterwords.
