    SCiG

I came across this SCiG and a few things stood out to me as odd.

Firstly the cross has a repair to the catch and as the repair is gilded the same as the cross that makes me suspicious that the cross has been re-gilded. So maybe it was a SCiS originally?

Secondly, something about the case is bugging me. Admittedly I haven't studied the green SC cases as they very infrequently turn up. So I wouldn't mind throwing it out there for discussion. I would be happy to learn something new.

    Hi,
the green case looks good but need further investigation with the inner bottom carboard, of which the reverse must be relief stamped "633. K B."
It is rare to see such case stamped with the LDO number (L/13). I can't explain the number written on the paper .

The cross is to my opinion a 900 Juncker cross. a close up of the swords grips could be give more precision, but the width of the swords grips and the eagles tend me to think it is a Juncker cross.
The cross retains a nice gilding, correct for a worn piece. indeed, the repair re-gilded is questionnable. A close once again could give more information, and of course a hand inspection, to see if the repair shows the exact same gilding as the cross body.
    just my 2 cents

And the apparent gilting on the repair bothered me. But was it gilting or was the repair simply a gold colored piece of metal?

Funny this came up it was something I had mentioned to Herr Timmler last week. Other eyes questioning the same issues.

Side by side with a Juncker. Lighting so totally changes the gilting...

Easier to see next to a bronze Juncker.

Here's a blowup of the existing photo "repair".
