Miniature Iron Cross + Knight Cross ?

Is this different in the sizes a sign of IC + KC or "only" IC2 + IC1 ?

    Sorry, it's only EK1+EK2.
Here is mine. The same, but 1914.

Whatever you want it to be....

      Schwertehre:

It could be whatever you want it to be! One thing though....Why would you figure an EK 1 & EK 2 just because the Cross is smaller?

It could be a Knight's Cross & 1st Class EK. There is no "eyelet" at the top of the smaller Cross
to indicate it is a 2nd Class. We all see them this way & we accept the idea that they represent
the 1st Class & 2nd Class. It's too bad the jewelers didn't put the 'eyelet' on the tops to show us
that it actually was a 2nd Class item.

It's most likely going to be called a 1st Class & 2nd Class Stickpin. Too bad it didn't have a more talented jeweler fashioning the Crosses....They aren't the best!

This design of pin is shown in period catalogues as EK1&2. I wondered the same thing before.

No, Ron - it's too complicate! Due to your logik "the jeweler should put the ribbon on the tops to show us that it actually was a 2nd Class item"

            Pin

In order to be an RK there should be two EKs on the pin. What size is the first one? This may help determine. According to Detlev's book the RK mini is 16mm. Jim

              Thank you.

I was not sure, because the most miniatures have EK1 and EK2 in same size.

The small EK is ca. 7mm the other ca. 9mm.

The only size that the RK came in is 16mm. Jim
