          Hartmann's B: 18th recipient ; 25/8/44.
          Balck's B : 19th recipient ; 31/8/44.

          Both B's profile similar.

This is Hartmann's, flipped and rotated. Are these casting flaws, too?

                    Bommel's B comes into play.
Balck's B will come from his family.

Was Balck ever presented with the diamonds at all?

                      According to this website: http://www.ritterkreuz.us/dispositio...nds-documents/

Looks like a good set, but if it was BalckĀ“s is another story. IMO.

Balck did not become a POW until the end of the war. There is a photo (which I have seen but can't find right now) of Balck receiving the award from Hitler, I believe at Rastenburg.

Regarding to the original documents form the PKZ (Dr. Horst) which have been published in the International Medal Collector, Balck got the physical Diamonds handed out. The information on that website is wrong, as is so much on the Internet.

Thank you both for the information about Balck's Diamonds.

I'll start looking for THAT photo during the award ceremony.

                              Regards,
                              Sepp.
