    RK's

Thought that this shot of part of my collection would be of interst to fellow collectors and members on this forum.
Good original stuff is still out there, but it takes a while to track down !
This little lot is the culmination of a lot of work.
    They are :

left Oak leaves with Junckers Lazy2 RK
CentreSword with Junckers "800/dot" RK (awarded to Field Marshall)
Right Swords and Junckers L/12 RK awarded to General Major
Top S&L RK awarded to panzer Feldwebel Anton Kreuzberg.

The original items stand head and shoulders above the copies.
No diamonds yet.... (maybe one day !)

    Good hunting one and all

          Lazy2

          Hi Richard
The Lazy2 is a name given by collectors/dealers to the Junckers "2" mark where the number is actually laying on its side... hence "lazy"...or "sleeping"... nothing too scientific here !
          Regards,
          Chris

Very nice!!! But, will you show us what a "800/dot" cross is. I thought these were only marked 800, 2 and L/12. Will you post a picture as I'm sure there are more than just me who have never seen or even held a real cross.
                Thanks,
                Bill

                  Junckers

                  Hello Bill,
Here is a shot of the reverse marks... as you can see its a central 800 with a "*" below it... this mark only appears on very very early Junckers RK's.... and this one was one of the very early awards made. Here is an image.
Actually, there are quite a few types variations of Junckers... you get the standard L/12, then there is the L/12 upside down... then several types of Lazy 2 (micro, left reclining, right reclining etc ), upright/upsidedown 2, then others marked only 800, and some not marked at all. Probably the most common award piece (in my opinion) is the L/12... they usually have the semimat satin type sheen to the core.. whereas the "2" marked crosses usuallly are very mat black with a rough surface texture. Oh yes... I have also had a non metalic cored Junckers with no marks at all on the frame.
There is no substitute for handling the real thing, and no copy comes close to the "feel" of the real deal...particularly the used ones (they ooze character)
Most people know of the cross hatch effect at the centre of the core of the Junckers crosses... but there are several other more subtle die characteristics that can be identified. Same with the Swords.
                  Best Regards,
                  Chris
