    EK11 Schinkel 'B' type.

Just to finish off with, a EK11 Schinkel 'B' type.

I just saw one of these sell for 1145euro on a site. Incredable.

I agree with Nick, not often to see surely.

MB have a expensive price...... but the people continue to acquire by they.

That may indeed be incredible, but it was a good price for that piece...

It would be a great adition to the EKs collection...

What an interesting core. Are they stamp lines running along the "upper" arms of the core? It would appear that the core sits just a little below the centre line in the frames so I'm guessing there would be the same stamp lines under the "lower" lips of the front frame. Would that be so? The texture of the frame is also interesting.

I could have bought one for £85 last year. I spotted a court mounted pair on the net being an EKII and a 1st October medal and more or less ignored it. I saw it several times over the next few weeks until it was marked as sold and only then did I look closely at the EKII, and it was one of those shown above. The dealer didn't know his stuff and thought it was a 'run of the mill' EK. I could have cried!

Yes Tony T-S : The core on these does have a raised 'lip' - that goes all the way around . The frame beading suppose to clamp over this lip to keep the core from moving . The core has a lose fit and will move - and the bead edging will scrap/chip the paint an the edge which does not hold very well to start with .These EK2s come with 2 cores .

All these were painted after assembly. I think the lines are just paint ridges, created when the core shifted after painting.

I know only one core in these B-Types. Can anyone show a second?
                    Best regards,

Yes there is a 2nd frame and core dies to these "Schinkel B" type crosses . A project I had on hold here for a while - mainly because of cost - and finding ones for picture comparisons .
2 cores and 2 frame dies exist ...and to go even further .. to core 1 -> there are 2 variations -- swastika with and without tapered cut outs but the same date ( modified die maybe ? ).
Started some time ago - tyanacek and a few others had assisted in getting the project started .

I still don't see two different cores -- maybe one core in different stages of its life.

Just found this one on a dealers website. It's not cheap but there are some good pics of the cross itself.
