On page 23 of Dietrich Maerz's book on the KC Dietrich states that the KC ribbon is usually 45mm wide. Also, the black and white stripes are usually 6mm wide, and the red center stripe is about 21 mm wide. The width of the white band, however, is not commonly measured in millimeters by collectors, but rather by counting the individual stitches. Numbers thus obtained are 25 or 30 stitches, and it is assumed that this count will cover most of the genuine ribbons. However, genuine ribbons with a stitch count for the white section of 23 and 24 do exist.
Hope this helps,
Robert
