    Knights Cross wartime jewelers copy

    Hello Experts !

I was looking at this cross
    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...=knights+cross

Is there any way to verify if this type of cross is wartime made ?
Where there any jewelers who made Knights crosses for people who fancied to have a spare ? I would like to know more about this type of crosses in general!

Any help is highly appreciated !

    Greetings Chris

I have a thread I started that ended up talking about Jewelers copies, maybe it will help.

            Agree.

Agree, whether its a copy or a jewelers Copy? At the end of the day they both equal to being Reproductions.

I truly mean no disrespect to the seller but the entire rig is worth no more than $150.00 for this copy. He is probably trying to get back what he paid for it.

I saw this and wished there were proper photos of the cross. I'm not sure they'd show much however. There is a perfectly respectable Souval RK with Oaks and swords, which has been sale for awhile on estand now, that is now listed at $350. So getting the asking price for this one will be an uphill battle.

The cross offered in that thread is a well known postwar fake that was sold new at least as recently as the 1990s. Got one myself.

Any L/ marked badge or award (for example) could be called a "jeweler's copy," and quite distinct from a "reproduction."

IMO just a plain copy, nothing to do with "jeweller" or anything close to that. Its a fake, end of story.
