Hello everyone, I am in need of some opinions on this EK1 as it just isn't my area of expertise... This came to me as you see it in the case. The pin when placed right side up appears to have the number 6 in it but if I am looking at it the wrong way then it would be a 9. It is quite nice and I intend to offer it for sale but would first like to have all pertinent information. So, my questions are is the maker Zimmerman? Is it correct, and what is a fair price for quick sale. Thanks for any and all answers. Scott

Here are some better pics, I must say I am a bit disappointed that no one could respond... As I said above I am planning on selling this along with several other TR items I have accumulated from Veterans over the years. I don't collect TR and just thought this would be a good place to get the proper i.d. so not to mis-represent anything. Thanks for anyone willing to help...Scott

As Tony said ... the EK2 ribbon is from a KVK .... for 10 bucks you can a correct piece .
Myself I would keep as much of the items you still have together as a group even with the box . According to the note there are other items . Do you have them also ?
I only assume the EK2 is original . Any close ups of it and is by chance the ring marked ?
Average condition : EK2 100 to 150 $s and cased EK1 about 350 $ .
Cheers, Douglas

The items came from a display I used to do in the early 90s while I was serving in the Army Reserve with the 70th Division. I would attend Division Association reunions with a well known helmet collector and author and we would often receive items at the reunions or by mail. The crosses and other items listed came in two postings. There were the items on the card visible in this post as well as a pair of panzer skulls that came separately.
So, I have the crosses and my former display partner got the panzer 25 badges and the collar tabs. He is a MUCH larger collector of TR items than I ever was or will be. I just kept some of the items as they had great provenance and I didn't have to pay for them. Now that my kids are growing older I think it is time to pass them along because like I said, I really don't collect TR. I just would like a fair price for these items. As far as replacing the ribbon on the 2nd class cross, to my knowledge its been that way since the war. Perhaps the 70th vet got a piece of ribbon and did this but I really don't feel the need to change it. That will be for the next owner to decide. I will get it out and see if it is marked. I will try and get some pics up in the next couple of days. A shame one has to pay to sell here as I will be selling all of the items I have and there are quite a few... I do appreciate the help though. Scott.
