    Iron Cross Schinkel...

I was at a show this weekend and I saw three different ek2kl schinkel form with different features.
Do you know how many variations of schinkel form exist? Any known GOOD repro around? For me all of them look original.

    Cheers,

    Javier.

    variations

The only variation that I know of is that some Schinkels have "balls"on the bottoms of the "9s" and "3s" and some don't.

As far as I know, there are at least two variations or makers of the Schinkelforms, with slightly different frames. I haven't seen a third type, but it may exist. A first class schinkel, made by the same maker as one of the 2nd's also exists in both pinback and screwback forms. I'm not home to post the two different EK2's and the EK1 schinkels in my collection, but if you are interested in a scan, PM me and I'll send you a .jpg of the 3 early next week.

                    Dear Javier,

You asked about fakes of the EK 1 Schinkel-Form. Here are two examples of the same kind of fake currently in online auctions.

Compare with Mark´s real one - vaguely similar, but no cigar.

Both are sold as originals - of course

                    Cheers, Frank

                            Thanks for the pics Frank!

I´ve seen one 1st and two 2nd class crosses. When I compared the two ek2kl I noticed they have sligh diferences so I´m now interested in known if they´re well faked or there are several makers with different dies that made this crosses.

                            Cheers,

                            Javier.
