Respect for your thought Douglas, but I have maken measurements some times and I have not noticed a difference of 0.4 mm in frames of the same type, no. Naturally out of mistakes.. if you are right we must find m.m 24 EKIIs or EKI but not wideframes, where are them ??

There are not so many options, just two. We agree that there is Paulmann & Crone date there so P&C was a supplier for someone or someone was a supplier for P&C. I think P&S receveid the parts.
Another fact is that this kind of cross is normally found with non magnetic cores, there will be a reason too.

Douglas, the machine that filed the edges cutted the frames substantially with the same size, then during the assembly the measures changes if there is not a perfect alignment, or not ? also, after the frames soldering, they used the file to finish the edges, this can change the measures a bit but all this can not turn a wideframe as a 24 is in a standard frame, there are not ! I would like a your thought about this point. So now you can not support your thought just with that pics compare, I think you agree, there is a cross already seen on the market, and needs some answers like: why this kind of P&C cored are always (? or often) non magnetic ?

Size does not matter or here it has no importance . Just look at the right EK2 - of the 2 Otto's I posted . From top to bottom it measures 45mm . I had an intense look .... the top and bottom have been filed so very lightly and the halves line up - exactly . All the filing did do is remove only some of the solder in the middle and barely scratched the frame itself . These Otto's frames were cut at 45 x 45 mm . More filing on the left made the left one a bit smaller . Crosses start out larger and this varies from maker to maker . What size does a 24 start out as ?? Very easy to take off 1mm or more as the picture below demonstrates . Picture supplied by Stu .
This thread was about the cross Bytown posted and what it is . My cross from post 4 is what ?... why it has a P&C core I do not know .
