I really like the AC/DC style lettering on the 1941 date!
Even if the cross was good, I would pass on it because of this engraving.

I used to own a very nice WW1 Meybauer cruciform EK1 on which someone added a spurious engraving - using the same propellor / wings logo. Similar to the Deutscher Luftsportverband emblem, I was told that others had seen it engraved on other crosses too.

    Regards - Danny

      Hank,

Perhaps they were trying to copy the DLV insignia?

"its a long way to the top if you want a" be an EKI. The half size swaz giant 19 super thick clasp ek with a nice dose of gun blue. No "rock and roll" here.

                Hi Hank,

To be honest I'm not sure exactly what it is, but it's a somewhat frequently seen motif engraved on the reverses of 1914 EKs. I guess it has something to do with flyers. The Klingbeil book on Prussian awards shows a few EKs with this design on the reverse, so this one may have been copied from those. Or those may have been done by the same dude.
                Best regards,
                Streptile
