Hi Tony many thanks for your replie, and yes i have bad fellings so ask for more opinions....

I'm certainly no expert on these, but it's not one I would be comfortable with. For me, the soft looking metal, poor details, pitting, strange reverse hardware all look like a pure repro/fake.

I have seen this type of set up on other late war pieces (hinge and catch as part of the award with pin added) here on the forum, but the catch in particular looks badly cast, or at least not at all cleaned up.
