I see no push button .... could well be a postwar made case for a postwar made Grand Cross ( and not Knights Cross ).
Do you have dimensions of the case ? These are much bigger then a KC case.

What makes you think it is even for a Knights Cross? It doesn't even have the recess for a KC.

As Rich said, I can't see any recess for an RK.
