    Unmarked EK1 - opinions please

I would be very grateful for opinions on this EK1. It has no makers mark and the core is magnetic. Is it a or ? If good, any ideas on the maker?

    Many thanks, Best regards, Guy

Original early Godet or Zimmermann. These with the wide-bead frames are quite rare.

Thanks Nick, Streptile - I was concerned about the wide bead frame - glad you think it legit - thank you again.

            Hi Trevor,

what make you believe that this is a Godet or Zimmermann?
The Frame + Core has nothing to do with the known 1939 Godet or Zimmermann.

Do you have more details on what base are your opinion?

              Hi Stefan,

Thank you for your PM Missed your question before.

I know this type is a Godet or Zimmermann for two reasons. Please give me some time to post the evidence this weekend, including:
              • L/50 Marked example
              • "Gebr. Godet" Carton example

(Also, the core is the traditional Godet/Zimm core I think)

              Thanks for your patience
              Best regards,

                  Hi Stefan,

Sorry for the late reply. Here is one of mine marked L/50 with the same early frame and typical Godet core. This is the only one I've seen with the Godet mark, although I've seen another with the Zimmermann L/52 mark.

It may be a bit salty, but it's rare as hell and something of a Rosetta Stone for the timeline of Godet/Zimmermann production.
