    Hi guys,
I've had this battered EKI sitting on my workbench for a few years now...
the horizontal arms are bent back slightly, and some of the ribbing on the front has been flattened

It looks like a good "L/13."

A very nice cross, especially with the L/13. Most of the Meybauers I've seen are either unmarked or with "7". Very nice!

              "7" vs. "L/13"

              Here's one marked with both!

                Another view (faint "7").

                  Hello Dave,

Nice looking EKI. It obviously looks like someone vaulted that one by hand. I wonder how/why the top arm's beading got flattened/ground down? Maybe that top arm was clamped in a vise while it was being vaulted.
                  Best regards! Tom

Just had another thought on this. Vaulting that cross would have caused the corners of the beaded rim, around the swastika, to lift up away from the core. The person doing the vaulting then tried to get the beaded rim to sit back down on the core, causing the damage to the beaded rim. Should have been left alone, but then again, this could have even been done by the original recipient of the award.
