    EK II Maker?

This cross is on a medal bar I just purchased that has the Afrika medal.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say S&L?

Would someone that knows these things please tell me the maker of the cross.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

That doesn't look like a Meybauer to me....I can't say for sure, but that doesn't remind me of a "7" or "L/13" core.

here we have not one of the ficest Meybauer unfortunately, we can find the well known frame from their heavy worn dies, then there are their typical dates.

                      Could it be Wiedmann?
                      Best regards,

I can't put a maker on this one..
It reminds me a bit of a P&C, but not a match..

Front date is not clear but I think the 1813 date is a Meybauer, the heavy flawed frame is " typical " for this maker. Trevor do you remember that my unmarked 1914 cored screwback (2-3 years ago via e-mail)? same but a bit less flawed.

I am also at a loss as to the maker, but looking at the reverse image in post #7, I am amazed that a cross with this many flaws could ever have been issued.
Are we certain that this is in fact a wartime produced cross? The dies must have been practically destroyed when this one was produced.

                            Regards - Danny

it could be for private purchase, my one is a first class 1914 cored and screwback, clearly for private purchases, but it 's not so rare to find Meybauers with a flawed frame, surely the cross we see here is one of "worse".
But after a search maybe we can find that exists with the PK m.m.
In my opinion they are definitely wartime.
