What is the deal with that "1941"?

      Hi George,

I was just thinking the same. Looks quite convincing overall but that date

Why are the numbers so perfect and what's the dot/stripe pattern in the numbers, never seen anything like it on a "20".

I agree with George and Philippe. The Cross was looking good until I got to the last photo, showing the '1941'. I have never seen anything like that before.

        Best regards! Tom

                    Hi,

many wrong points has done the faker in these identical pieces, he has tryed to do more nice and more definite by hands in the first one then in DK showed from Neil ( very raw , look wreath, disk under the svaz and svaz ! ) but absolutely for me are not originals. Really I cannot understand why has done the points in date.

                    Case looks original.

I find this also starnge, because the two crosses here do not resemble what I find to be a genuine Zimmermann... especially the wreath (apart from the numerals) is different.

George, have a look at your cross - same wreath? I don't think so. I concur completely with Ivan!

We all love a mystery! I'd love to see Detlev's 'expertise' and compare it to the cross shown here.....

Certainly not the first time a medal etc. has been switched for the one actually depicted in the certificate!

                          Or am I too suspicious....?

                          Naw!!
                          Regards,

I see other differences in the wreath, too, compared to my four Zimmermanns -- most notably the outermost leaves at three and nine o'clocks.
