    DKIS cloth, white material.

    Hi,

I got a job lot of bits and this came with it.

All the other bits are dead right, but this I have my doubts about.

I know the cloth DKIS was never officially sanctioned but there may have been some privately made. Is there any chance with this one? Does it match any known examples of a private made DKIG?

It's quite cruidly made, but that for me gives it a little hope as its not just a fake DKIG silvered.

    Found in Berlin.

    Any opinions most welcome.

    Regards,

    Joe

I have never seen one like this, I would say a very bad reproduction. Need more opinions.

Never seen anything remotely like it.
I agree with Ralph. I doubt very much it's original.

IMHO it's so bad it has a chance of being good.

If it looked like an accepted form of DKIG with paper backing etc I would have dismissed it as an out and out fake.

Well Joe there's always a possibility that it could be wartime made but you have to ask yourself what are the chances? For me, very slim.

Lets see what others have to say. Stranger things have happened before.

                  Thanks for the input,

There's no problem if it's not right, still nice enough to display.

Interested to hear all opinions :-)

                  Kind regards,

                  Joe

There is no real way to tell whether it is good or bad, since there is no fixed data point to compare to.
So all that is left is an opinion. In my opinion this piece would better fit on the dress of a lady going to an Austrian Opera Ball than on the uniform of a self-respecting DK winner who was in North Africa.

                      Hi Dietrich,

                      Thank you for your input.

I thought the same with the piece, about there being no way to really tell either way.

I was hoping there might have been an identical one with rock solid provenance is existence, wishful thinking I know!

                      Many thanks again,

                      Kind regards,

                      Joe

                        Joe,

I also do not believe this one to be authentic.

                          Hi Joe,

DK's stoff can find strange types, not official, made pre-1945.

This DK me too never I have seen before....it's not very good looking , the form is a bit too rounded, material is not so bad as in other pieces....sincerely I don't know if can be a pre-1945.

IMO not a authentic pre May 1945 made DK.

The back looks like it would glow under UV light, give it a go and see what happens.
