Nice EK1 who made it???

Just purchased this brass core EK1 with its original box. Over all, nice condition for both pieces. A little paint missing from the center but all in all I love the badge. Any idea who the maker is? There is no maker marks on the cross but as I noticed the base being loose I see some markings inside. Could that help ID the maker?
