    EK I 1939 with case

    Hi guys!

I'm sure, the case is a good one but - according to some threads here on this forum - the cross is NOT! Am I right?

Many thanks in advance for looking and commenting,

    Peter

I can't see from the pics properly but looks like the much stigmatised L15

Case looks okay for me. But maybe not original to this particular cross.

          Cased EK1

The case is a very nice early high quality piece, and I dont believe it was original to the cross.

I wouldn't go for a L15 marked EK1, because there is no evidence that L15 marked EK1 were build war time! And after Floch said he buid many L15 after the war, I'm not sure if it's a post war EK1 from Floch.

Please show me an evidence for any manufactur that made wartime he crosses we "declare" wartime. Good luck!

peter, where did you get the cross from? Again directly from the family?

Yes indeed, Stefan! But the former owner was already dead at that time and he had been a former leader of a comradeship of "Austrian Kameradschaftsbund". It wouldn't had been a large problem for him to buy an EK I after the war as a replacement for his (maybe lost) wartime-piece...

To me it doesn't look like a typical Floch-fake, but unfortunately I'm not an expert in case of EK's.

Thanks for Your comments and help,

                  Peter

Of course he could have bought one. And then he obviously wore it long time to wear off some paint. But i would go much easier; he got that early cross along with the early case during war.

                      Gruesse Gott Peter,
I've ever considere that crosses fake, probably I wrong, but is always on my mind this scan.

But probably is only my mental limit, but many Vet bought after War the decorations "put on memory" or lost. But they didn't know the fake product present on the market and didin't recognize them.

For this fact decorations that come from vet homes or family can be false.

Is my personal thought, nothing else.

                      Ciao

Hi! I know that and wrote it in my first posting. Thanks for Your opinion!

                        Kind regards,

                        Peter
